Ce qu'elles ont fait naître
Daniel Leblond
Exhibition
Daniel LeBlond started out as a filmmaker and then became a photographer, developing an interest in painting over 30 years ago. As a Jesuit artist and author from Quebec, who is continuously reflecting and creating, he sees art as «a spiritual experience for both the artist and the audience».
Ce qu'elles ont fait naître marks a new series of original works. These sixteen large-sized works (some more than 2m in height) are all oils painted on precious wood. Placed on custommade pedestals, each piece of wood presented in the Abbey was specially chosen by the artist. In these artworks, Daniel LeBlond initially evokes his mother, paying homage to both her and all the women he has loved and who have loved him in return.
This religious modern art exhibition is made possible thanks to the support of Québec’s Government Office.
