At the Maison de l'Été, Juliette Green presents two original projects created in one of her favourite graphic techniques, mixing writing with graphic design and schematic reasoning, also known as "mindmapping".
The first project is a series of wall drawings representing the works of Un Été Au Havre, inscribed within the permanent collection. Around the representation of these works, the artist reproduces various sentences and quotes, some imaginary and some resulting from a work carried out by the Cueilleurs d’Histoires association, which collected the words of the people of Le Havre during a walk in which they were asked to react to the works.
The second project is presented in the form of a narrative drawing responding to the question: "What happens when you install a work of art in a neighbourhood?"The artist's story is entirely imaginary. It begins with the description of a neighbourhood and the people who live there. It then goes on to focus on a specific character: an artist invited by the city to create a work of art on a square located in the centre of this neighbourhood. Finally, the story reveals the population's reactions to the work, whether hostile, neutral or welcoming, etc.
Juliette Green thereby invites us to reflect on themes such as co-existence or sharing the public space, the circulation of speech, freedom of expression and the various philosophical and social issues posed by the art installation in the space of the city.
