This corner of Japan sits tucked between the city center’s two historical basins. At its heart, a pond, delicately surrounded by a pebble beach, that then splits into two streams.
These brooks run by the thoughtfully positioned rocks and maple groves. Azaleas, cherry trees and rhododendrons diffuse their scent along the path that also takes in a red bridge, a lantern and a typical Japanese fountain.
Le Havre’s Japanese garden was created in 1994 by Yasuko Miyamae and Samuel Craquelin, and is a gorgeous celebration of the twinning association that links the city and its port with the port of Osaka.
