Nestled in a former 19th century fort, the Hanging Gardens have superb views of the sea, the harbour and the city. Officially registered as
«Remarkable gardens» in 2014 and then «Botanical Gardens» in 2017, they cover over 17 hectares and are home to a collection of plants from all five continents that pay tribute to the explorers who brought them back from far-flung expeditions.
The Hanging Gardens opened in 2008 and celebrate their tenth anniversary this year.
Hôtel des Oiseaux is a large 6-metre-high parallelepiped set into the embankment at the southern entrance to the former fort
