Les Jardins Suspendus 29, rue Albert Copieux Le Havre

This interactive installation, designed by the visual design studio Chevalvert, is housed in a former powder magazine in the Hanging Gardens. Hundreds of thousands of portraits line the walls of the alveoli, and are brought to light under the impulse of the finger that navigates from face to face from a tablet.

During an event called "Clic-clac, portrait of a city", which took place in 2017, the year of the city’s 500th anniversary, every people living or passing through Le Havre were invited to have their picture taken in a cabin, a mobile combi or send their shot to a digital platform. All these portraits have been sorted and collected in this installation with the appearance of a time capsule. Suspended in time, faces and personalities are revealed, multiple and unique at the same time, to constitute a huge family photo.
