The Tall Ships Races are organised by Sail Training International and apprentice sailors are given the opportunity to join the crew on board the sail training ships. Young people from all backgrounds can take part in these races, whatever their level of education or sailing knowledge.
In partnership with Le Havre Seine Métropole, and thanks to the work of the local councils, higher education establishments, high schools, training schools, social welfare associations and businesses from the urban community, this scheme is giving young people from the region the opportunity to take part in this year’s The Tall Ships Races.
Apprentice sailors will be actual crew members, sailing aboard an exceptional ship for a week during one of the 2 first legs of the race: Le Havre - Dunkirk from 6 to 12 July 2025 or Dunkirk – Aberdeen (Scotland) from 12 to 21 July 2025.
As part of their sailing qualification, apprentice sailors will learn how to sail on this rewarding experience at sea.
